Our Intent

We opened our doors to give Regina the professional martial arts environment it deserves — present, invested coaches, and students who feel genuinely empowered every time they step on the mats. To be in business over ten years doesn’t happen by accident— it's because of a culture built on care, attention, and mutual respect.

We do not tolerate:

  • Racist, sexist, or homophobic speech

  • Sexual harassment

  • Intimidation, bullying, or excessive aggression

  • Training under the influence of drugs or alcohol during class

Bio

I started martial arts in 2005 to compete in MMA, and like many, eventually placed my focus solely on Jiu-Jitsu. In time I exceeded what was possible for me in Regina, and traveled regularly to train with Jason Gagnon; an active competitor making waves in competitions throughout the world. My exposure to him and his team brought my desire and understanding of Jiu-Jitsu to the next level. Those years of travel and sacrifice taught me that greatness in this art requires an understanding of the truth above all else — a lesson that quietly shaped everything I would go on to build.

In 2015 I started the process of opening a facility to provide Regina the program and environment I wish existed here at home. As I continued to travel the world training with champions and stand out athletes, I brought those experiences back home to help our students.

To grow up as a kid in the prairies and receive my black belt from Jason alongside a legend like Cobrinha was a dream come true. That moment represented not just a personal milestone, but an understanding that world-class Jiu-Jitsu is possible anywhere — even on the Canadian prairies — if you're willing to pursue it with everything you have. It deepened my conviction that Regina deserves a gym where students are taken seriously and given every opportunity to experience the ultimate in themselves.

My focus is solely on the student experience and teaching. I believe in selfless service, being simple, authentic and honest, and getting out of the way so all students have the unbound freedom to enjoy their own journey of discovery in the brilliant art and science of Jiu Jitsu.

Chaun McCurdy
Black Belt

Chaun has been training Jiu-Jitsu for over 10 years and teaches our morning and lunch classes. A life long Regina resident, he is a fitness enthusiast and family man who doesn't just train Jiu Jitsu, but lives the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle of training nearly every day and pushing himself to reach his limits. His dedication to the art is matched only by his dedication to his students, bringing the same relentless work ethic to his teaching that he brings to his own game. Chaun believes that Jiu-Jitsu is more than a sport — it's a tool for building discipline, resilience, and confidence that extends far beyond the tatami. Whether you join him for an early morning session or a midday roll, you'll quickly discover that his energy is contagious and his passion for helping others grow is what makes his classes something students genuinely look forward to almost every day.

Jason Burns
Black Belt

Jason has been training for over 10 years, is a local tattoo artist and a compassionate human being who loves Jiu Jitsu. He received his black belt in 2024 from Jason Gagnon. His artistic eye and attention to detail carry over seamlessly from the tattoo studio to the mats, where he approaches every technique with the same precision and creativity. Whether you're stepping onto the mats for the first time or looking to sharpen your game, Jason's patient and encouraging coaching style makes every student feel welcome and capable. Outside of training, his genuine care for the people around him has made him a cornerstone of the gym's community and a mentor that students keep coming back to.
