6-WEEK PROGRAM STARTS NOVEMBER 3
Learn to solve the problem, not memorize the move
A 6-week No-Gi program built for complete beginners who’ve never trained before — taught through live problem solving from day one, not drills you copy and forget.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:00–8:30pm
Cap of 12 so every beginner gets coached, not just corrected.
Here’s what “Ecological Learning” actually means for you
No belts, no forms. Just live, guided problem-solving — the same way you'd actually get good at anything physical.
-
Instead of copying a technique step-by-step, you're given a real problem to work through against a partner — with coaching in the moment, not before it.
-
Positional sparring starts your first class, capped at beginner intensity. You build instinct instead of a mental checklist of moves.
-
Skills learned by solving problems transfer to real rolling. Skills learned by memorizing sequences usually don't.

This program is built for that exact starting point. Rounds are short, intensity is capped, and coaching stops the class the moment it gets too fast. Most people are surprised how much of the difficulty is skill, not fitness.
-
No-Gi at beginner intensity has a lower injury rate than most recreational sports. You'll spend the first classes learning control and understanding how to train like a veteran so everyone is safe.
-
You'll go through all 6 weeks with the same small group of fellow beginners. Nobody in the room has done this before either.
-
You can continue training in the same class or join any of our other regular classes. After your first 6 weeks, beginners are offered a promotional membership rate of $126/month for the first six months.
-
I'd given up on the idea of training due to weight gain and general lack of motivation. Due to the coaching, culture, and boost in confidence, I decided to take the plunge and join.

Coaches are great (clear, experts), smaller size, women feel safe (huge green flag), great programs, and just supportive community. Also, almost never any injuries in training (another huge green flag)

I have a hip injury that impacts my strength and flexibility, and the coaches have given me great advice for how to adapt to difficult situations. Welcoming, practical, and well-taught.

2ND DEGREE BLACK BELT
Black belt awarded following approval from Cobrinha — the most decorated black belt in BJJ history
Trained extensively with World and Pan Am champions in the US and overseas
Taught Jiu-Jitsu full time for over 10 years
Competed in 30+ events locally and internationally, placing top 3 in most
I started martial arts in 2005 to compete in MMA, and later focused on Jiu-Jitsu. Once I'd outgrown what Regina could offer, I traveled regularly to train with Jason Gagnon and his team, which brought my understanding of the art to the next level. In 2015 I opened Regina BJJ to build the program and environment I wished had existed here at home — proof that world-class Jiu-Jitsu is possible even on the Canadian prairies, if you're willing to pursue it.
